Weather conditions lead to serious incident
Sunday February 12th began with snow, and ice pellets causing local roads to be quite slippery. At approximately 9:00am a vehicle traveling east on Goffle Road lost control on icy road conditions and crashed over a four foot wall and into the county pond. The vehicle ended roughly 30 foot into the pond in a depth of 4 foot. A Passing driver Don McEwan who witnessed the accident jumped into action by entering the water after calling for help from emergency responders. Don was able to free the driver with the aid of patrol officers as additional police and fire personnel as well as other passing drivers whom assisted in removal from the water. The victim was transported in via EMS for treatment.
