Strong Storms and Flooding

8/7/2026 – Rain, flood, water rescues, repeat. Mother Nature has been showing us her powers the past few weeks with strong storms wreaking havoc on the area. Tonight’s storm was no different. Heavy rainfall fell with intense lightning bringing Hawthorne FD members out to handle numerous calls for service. Members operated over 20 calls for service including buildings struck by lightning, fire alarms, flooded homes/apts, and over 20 people rescued from vehicles becoming stranded in the flood waters.
