“Stoned Cold” Drill at Hawthorne High School
p styletext-align justifyThis morning Hawthorne High School seniors were brought face to face with the realities of driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and even texting from their mobile phones.nbsp Through a large cooperative effort with the Board of Education the Hawthorne Police Fire and Ambulance and the Mayor and Councilnbspa drill depictiing an overturned vehicle with entrapment and a DOA was staged in front of the high school.nbsp Seniors saw first hand how much pain the victim was in and how long it took emergency workers to extricate him.nbsp They also saw another grim reality as the ejected victims body lay in the road covered by a sheet.nbsp We hope this drill will remain on the minds of all the seniors so they will always make the right choices.pp styletext-align justifyThank you to everyone who came out to participate to set up and breakdown the scenario.nbsp It was a great success.pp styletext-align justifySpecial thanks to Citywide Towing for bringing and removing the vehicle for the drill.pp styletext-align justifyThank you to Dave Sylvester for the pictures.nbsp To see more click the link below.pp styletext-align justifya hrefhttpwww.hawthornefire.shutterfly.comwww.hawthornefire.shutterfly.comapp styletext-align justify-503p
