Smoke Detector donations from the Rogers family and the Avan Electric Company

06/09/2026 – Last year we received a visit from Una Rogers. Una and her sister Aoife survived a devastating house fire that took place in the Borough back in April of 2000. Una and Aoife survived the fire but unfortunately their parents and brother did not. Una presented the Department with a generous donation from an event held in near their home in Ireland. Our members immediately decided this needed to be put towards ensuring that others are protected properly to be able to escape an emergency should one arise. We want to thank Avan Electric for their generous assistance and the Rogers family for their donation in which we were able to get smoke detectors for each company to keep in stock for calls that need them.
