Responded to 20+ calls for service

09/13/2026 – Another busy morning for the members of the Hawthorne Fire Department. Companies were dispatched to a reported pole fire on Jefferson Pl shortly after 7am. As companies were responding to this call the weather was started to make an impact on the Borough. Over the next few hours members would respond on 20+ calls for service including fire alarms, vehicles in flood waters, and water conditions. Members were able to be released around noon. Thank you to the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps , Hawthorne.OEM, and Hawthorne PD for working with us to handle these calls. Also thank you to Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department who handled a call for us while all companies were committed.
