Rescued trapped victim from fallen tree

04/08/2023 – This afternoon members were dispatched to a residence on Washington Ave for a report of a party stuck under a tree. Crews arrived to find a large tree that had fallen on someone and pinned them underneath by their foot. After attempts to use air bags, tools, and cribbing did not free the victim members were forced to think outside the box. Downes Tree Service was contacted for use of their crane and Paterson was requested to the scene with their USAR Rescue for specialty equipment. A Wyckoff Rescue was also put on stand by. The victim was removed and turned over to ALS/BLS with non-life threatening injuries. Thank you to Paterson FD and Downes Tree Service for assistance on scene and Wyckoff FD for standing by. Job well done by all members who operated.
