Thank you for the help greatly appreciated
You all look so happy
Why are they having fireworks in September?
At 4pm today Truck 2, Rescue 5, and Chief 50 were dispatched to 160 Parmalee Ave for a wall collapse at the Hawthorne High School. Chief Speranza (50) arrived and reported he had a large section of parapet wall that had collapsed and an additional section in danger of collapsing. The crews from Truck 2 and Rescue 5 used to aerial to access the roof and check the integrity of the structure. Once deemed safe and members harnessed and tethered off for proper safety a K12 saw and pike poles were used to remove the loose bricks and section in danger of falling. Members operated for close to 3hrs to make the scene safe and secured. Luckily no injuries were reported. Immediately after getting back in quarters a fire alarm and transformer fire came in at the same time and were also handled by our dedicated volunteers.
