Numerous alarms due to passing storm

6/26/2024 – During the hot temperatures yesterday the members of the fire department stayed busy with numerous calls for service. They included a fire alarm at 1am on Sherman Ave, a gas leak in a townhouse on Metro Vista Dr, and 2 calls for trees into homes from the passing storm. The first storm call was for a tree into a home on Warburton Ave. The tree unfortunately came down and broke through the roof and into the 2nd floor causing major damage. Struts were used to stabilize the front of the home near the porch. The second storm call was on Lincoln Ave where a tree came down and ripped the electric service from a home but no major damage was found there otherwise. Luckily no injuries were reported during these calls. Job well done by our volunteers handling these calls in the middle of the heat wave we are experiencing. (Photo from cbs news broadcast)
