Hawthorne Firefighters receive Bailout Escape Training

The weekend of February 3rd & 4th, 10 members from the Hawthorne Fire Department received  two days of classroom and hands on practical training on the Firefighter Bailout System, provided by AAA Emergency Supply Co, Inc. The Bailout systems provided a quick, efficient, and safe method for escaping a violent fire event. Firefighter bailout system is sometimes your last defense against death or serious injury or being trapped in a burning structure.  It is a vital component of the firefighter rescue gear.

The members did extensive training being taught to bail out windows that could save themselves in case they become trapped.
