Hawthorne Fire Department lost a good friend, mentor, and previous Borough Chief Ex-Chief Ed Warr
Today, the Hawthorne Fire Department lost a good friend, mentor, and previous Borough Chief Ex-Chief Ed Warr passed today after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Through out his years of service to the Borough of Hawthorne he served as our Fire Department Borough Chief from 1987 to 1991. Chief Warr was a firefighters chief helping the Borough develop and purchase a cascade communications vehicle and communications room. He was one of the founding fathers of the Passaic County Fire Mutual Aid Association serving not only Hawthorne but all of Passaic County. Chief Warr leaves behind his wife Dot and family in Lancaster, PA where he retired many years ago. He will be sorely missed and may he Rest In Peace. The Department offers our deepest condolences to the Warr family.
