Fire Prevention

The Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department annually visits area schools offering fire prevention education to children and teachers alike. The program which began in 2002 has successfully evolved over the past 14 years to a dedicated venture of edification of fire safety. The program provides fire fighters to interact with teachers and children by teaching fire safety directly in the classroom. The program utilizes a pour children for a great cause.
