Car fire on route 208 North

03/26/2023 – At 1:52 PM this afternoon the Hawthorne Fire Department was dispatched for a reported car fire on route 208 North. Upon arrival companies were met with a fully involved SUV that was extending to the trees and brush next to it. While fighting the fire the fuel tank also failed. All 5 companies worked together to have the fire under control and hazards mitigated as quickly as possible so Rt 208 could be reopened.
