9/11 Memorial Service and Ground Breaking Ceremony

p styletext-align justifyIt has been 11 years since the Towers fell and every year since then the Emergency Responders and citizens of Hawthorne come together to remember and honor those that were lost.nbsp This year was special as part of the cermony included the groundbreaking for a permanent memorial to be constructed on Goffle Road between the Ambualnce Corps. building and Fire Headquarters.nbsppp styletext-align justifyThe boro was fortunate to be the recipeint of a 20 foot piece of steel from the World Trade Center which will the be the centerpiece of the memorial.nbsp A contingent of Emergency Response Personnel picked up the steel at JFK Airport last November.pp styletext-align justifyThe memorial will be created thanks to the support of many civic groups as well as the Mayor and council and Hawthornes Emergency Responders.nbsp We ask any of you that are able to please contribute to the construction of this memorial that will remain for generations to come.p
