100 Rock Rd on a reported collapse

01/28/2024 – At 9am this morning the Fire Department was dispatched to 100 Rock Rd on a reported collapse. Upon the arrival of Chief Speranza he confirmed a wall had collapsed and a portion of the 1st floor had collapsed into the basement compromising the utilities. The remainder of the building was evacuated along with other buildings with utilities affected. A partial UASI response and 2nd alarm was transmitted to assist on scene and covering the Borough. Members operated in scene until 1pm and returned back at 2:30pm to stand by as safety while an engineer and company shored the building up. All members were back home around 6:30pm. Thankfully all residents made it out safely and no injuries were reported. Thank you to HFD Auxilary, HFD Radio Desk, Borough OEM, Hawthorne EMS, Hawthorne PD, and the mutual aid/UASI teams that responded.
